Cafe Update

Good evening Students:

First of all, I want to thank you, truly, for the amount of support and advocacy you have shown for your music cafe in the past couple of months. It is heartwarming to see such support for change that you want to see in your Faculty. 

On the eve before the new year starts, we want to give you an update on the cafe and what you can expect from the space as the year progresses.

The cafe will be delayed. The cafe will not open on September 3rd.

This does not mean that the cafe will not open at all! We are still working very closely with the University in ensuring that the cafe will open soon. Four months have just not been enough time in getting the cafe project finished. The cafe might open in a couple weeks or maybe a few months, we just don't know at this point, but we will be continuing to update you on the progress that we make. 

I want to thank all those that signed up to volunteer (we still need you when it opens!) and all those that sent an email to the University. They have heard your voice!We will tirelessly work on getting the cafe open as soon as possible.

Until then, I hope you can forgive our tardiness! The cafe shell does look very sad. The EDI office will continue to provide the food insecurity program on the cafe counter, as was the case for previous years.
